Your device might have a “default” app selected that is grabbing the PDF file. You can disable this or select a different default application in the Settings on your Android device.

Or, you can open your Downloads folder and tap and hold the file. Then you should be able to select your preferred app.

The Open PDF function will list any apps that “offer” to open a PDF. If your preferred app doesn’t appear, it may not support opening or importing PDFs from other apps.

You can try opening your preferred app and checking it to see if it will let you import a PDF from the menu or settings of the app.

Most Android devices come pre-installed with a “file explorer” that allows you to view your local storage, but some do not. If your device does not have a native file app installed, you can install a file explorer app from the Google Play Store.
